Our Returns Philosophy
At Camping Gear Central, we equip global adventurers with reliable gear from trusted brands like Coleman, OZtrail, and Caribee. We understand that sometimes, gear needs to be returned or exchanged—whether a tent isn’t the right size for your group, a sleeping bag doesn’t suit the climate, or you simply changed your plans. Our returns process is designed to be as straightforward, practical, and transparent as our privacy practices. We aim for a resolution that gets you back to your adventure with minimal hassle.
The Basics: What You Need to Know
- Return Window: You have 15 days from the date you receive your item to initiate a return or exchange.
- Condition: Items must be unused, in original packaging, with all tags and accessories included. They must be in a resalable condition.
- Proof of Purchase: Please have your order number or confirmation email ready.
- Return Shipping: Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping unless the return is due to our error (e.g., wrong item shipped, defective product).
- Refund Method: Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, or PayPal).
Step-by-Step Return & Exchange Process
- Initiate Your Request: Within 15 days of delivery, contact our customer service team at [email protected]. Use the template below to ensure we get all the necessary information quickly.
- Receive Instructions: We will respond within 2 business days with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and detailed instructions on where to send your item. Do not send anything without an RMA number.
- Pack and Ship: Securely pack the item(s) in their original packaging, include a copy of your order confirmation, and clearly write the RMA number on the outside of the box. Ship to the address we provide. We recommend using a trackable shipping service.
- Inspection & Processing: Once received at our warehouse, our team will inspect the item(s) (typically within 3-5 business days).
- Resolution:
- For Returns: Upon approval, your refund will be processed.
- For Exchanges: We will ship the replacement item once the return is approved. If the desired item is out of stock, we will issue a refund or discuss alternative options.

Refunds: Timing & Method
- Processing Time: After your return is approved, please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to be processed.
- To Your Card/Bank: The refund will appear on your original payment method (Visa, MasterCard, JCB). The time it takes for the funds to be reflected in your account depends on your bank’s policies, but it typically takes an additional 3-5 business days.
- To PayPal: Refunds to PayPal are usually reflected within 24-48 hours of our processing.
- You will receive an email notification once your refund has been issued.
Important Exceptions & Non-Returnable Items
To ensure the safety and hygiene of all our adventurers, certain items cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive defective or damaged. Based on our product range, please note:
- Hydration Products (e.g., water bladders, bottles) for obvious hygiene reasons.
- Sleeping Bags & Mats/Swags that have been removed from their original, sealed packaging, unless defective.
- Any item that is customized, used, damaged, or not in its original condition and packaging.
- Items marked as “Final Sale” or on clearance.
If a non-returnable item arrives defective, please contact us immediately with photos/video evidence, and we will provide a full replacement or refund.
International Returns
As we serve adventurers globally (excluding some remote areas in Asia), please be aware:
- You are responsible for any return shipping costs, customs duties, or taxes incurred when sending the item back to our US-based returns center.
- We cannot process returns sent to the manufacturer or any address other than the one we provide with your RMA.
- Refunds will be issued in the original currency of the purchase.
